Originally the local grocery shop, the Tea Store became a cafe in 1990.

The current proprietor, Louise Boyd, was raised in the village and worked here before taking control in 2003.
Louise was assisted by the Prince's Scottish Youth Trust and her commitment to the quality of produce, service and business has seen recognition in returning trade, local business and also awards such as the LiveWire "Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2005".

The Tea Store uses local produce where possible and home made meals and baking. We prefer our producers to not use intensive farming/production methods, and also aim for minimal food miles - most of our produce comes from within a 60 mile radius directly from producers.

We have replaced electrical equipment with energy efficient category A items where possible to minimise our environmental impact, and we actively recycle glass, cans and plastics.

We also use organic, Fairtrade coffees and hot chocolate in an effort to help ensure our products are ethically produced as well as high quality.

We are small but offer a friendly welcome and on good days you are welcome to sit outside on our tables enjoying the local environment along with your snacks and drinks.

We are positioned on Argyle Street, the street behind the Ullapool seafront, opposite the tourist office.

If you are in Ullapool, we hope to welcome you!
